A woman must maintain clean habits and look after herself after delivery. The body takes 6-8 weeks to get back to normal. Whatever she eats indirectly goes to the baby, even her thoughts and ideas.
Diet is very important for a mother as she is nursing an infant. She must avoid foods that cause colic, gas, cold, cough or discomfort to her and her baby. She must consume lots of liquid and fibrous food. Her diet must be high in calcium, iron, phosphorous, Vitamin C and B complex, as she is nurturing a child.
Keep infants and young children out of the sun as much as possible.
- Try to stay out of the sun between 10:00AM and 3:00PM when UV radiation is highest.
Turmeric : It is a blood purifier and an anti-bacterial antiseptic which also helps to stop bleeding in cases of minor injuries and prevents infection of wounds, a pinch of it added to hot milk helps clear up a congested wind-pipe, nose and chest, and improves the voice. When added to warm mustard oil or coconut oil and applied to sprains or inflamed muscles it helps reduce the swelling and pain.

Try baking Soda
Take a big bowl of water and put 2 cups of baking soda in this. Soak your hands and feet in this for half an hour everyday.
Scrub with Tomato Juice
Put a couple of cups of tomato juice in a bucket of lukewarm water. Soak and scrub your hands and feet in this for half an hour. This should reduce sweat from your hands.
